woodson, hugh, va. line, R19215 also va 1/2 soldier srv as capt. in va. line. on jan 27, 1852 one laurens aston of maidisonville in hopkins co., ky.applied as agent for soldier's heirs. soldier had received va. state bounty land (no date) names of soldier heirs were not given, a hughes woodson applied for pension based on war of 1812 service on WC#6531 and appeared to be the son of this soldier and his wf elisabeth woodson and the son hughes woodson, jr. was born 30 may 1790 and srv in the war of 1812 from powhatan co., va. and between 1832 and 1835 he moved from powhatan co., va to hopkins co., ky. where he was living at his death on 19 or 29 jan 1846 or 47, was buried some 10 miles north of madisonville, ky. the said hughs woodson, jr. married sarah m. winfree or winfrey on 30 may 1808 in powhatan co., va and she was born16 sept 1794 and she applied 21 jan 1875 in hopkins co., ky.
