Since it would be very unusual for a County Militia unit to be sent outside the County, much less outside the State, there may have been some proceedings in the Chesterfield County Court concerning how the men were to be paid. Such records as survive would need to be researched in person.
While the State Legislature specifically directed that militiamen be sent to defense of Charleston, SC in 1780, I found no such reference regarding Guilford Court House.
