Thanks, we've searched and haven't found any Washington Co. records for Flowers other than tax lists. There are Greene court records after 1796, but we didn't find this among them, though we may have missed it. My theory--just a theory--is that it might have been in West Augusta or Monongalia County records. Monongalia records were destroyed in the fire of 1796 in Morgantown. It sounds as though the case had come before the PA authorities at least once prior to this, and that it must have gone before a local court before that. Very puzzling.
