I have heard of this before, I know of a case that took place during the civil war. Two soldiers with the same name, different middle initial. One soldier deserted. One soldier completed his service. The widow of the man who deserted went and changed marriage documents and so on at the COURTHOUSE and she made herself out to be the wife of the man who completed his service. I found out about it reading old newspapers. There was a trial and arrests... I wonder how common this was? Notify Administrator about this message?
