James, you may have already determined this, but if not, Your Wiley W. Anderton is not a son to the Wiley W. Anderton who served as a cws and died at Rock Island, Illinois. That Wiley Washington Anderton b:Jan 28 1834, d:Feb 29 1864, who was a civil war soldier captured after being wounded in the battle of Chicamauga, was my gg grandfather. Wiley Washington Anderton was married to Rebecca Eaton and they only had one son (b:1859) prior to Wiley enlisting in the war in 1861.

I have read that there was also at least two other Wiley W. Anderton's during that time frame, maybe you have already found the match for yours. Are you sure your Wiley W.'s father was also named Wiley W.?
