as an exerpt from one of your other posts Larry, you mentioned your John Washington Anderton being on the 1880 Moore County census as 42 yo male (b:1838)
and then gave 1905 Confederate Pension Notes for another John Washington Anderton as follows: "John stated that he was BORN 29 JULY 1827 in Bedford County, Tennessee" "He listed a wife age 54, no children living with me, 2 boys and a girl"
The confederate pension notes would not match the details for your John Washington. This is why I thought you might be confused with two different Johns.
