Jan, the John Anderton, who m. Ruth Blakley, was living in the vicinity of present day Allgood in Blount Co. AL when he d. He m. Ruth Blakley (Blackly), the daughter of Aquilla Blakley, a RS, in 1813 in Grainger Co. TN. Aquilla filed for his pension as a RS in 1833 in Blount Co. AL and apparently was living there with Ruth and John Anderton. John was administrator of his estate in 1839 following Aquilla's death in Dec 1838.

I am a descendant of a John Blakley, b. 1762 SC, who was living nearby in Blount Co. AL when he d. in 1852. I have tried to determine what relationship, if any, there was between my John and Aquilla. Mary Anderton filed a document in 1850 in Blount Co. stating she was the daughter of and sole surviving child of Aquilla Blakley.

While I have little else in the way of information concerning your Anderton families, hopefully this will be of some interest to you.
