Nancy, SORRY, I missed your 7-17-06 Posting.
Basically here's what I Have:
For William's wife Elizabeth, I have three last name Seagrams (from the Internet), Lagrave (from the marriage in Konx Co., IN) and Deounes or Deorines( very hard to read) from Manetta's & George Goodart's marriage record. I don't know which is correct and I really don't believe William was married to 3 different Elizabeth.
Based on my research I believe Manetta was raised by her grandparents John Sr. & Sarah AnthisThis is based on the 1860 Fed. Census for Wabash Precinct, Wabash Co., IL – which shows a Nada J. (age 12) along with a Franklin (age 10) , Mary E. (age 7) and Isaac (age 5) Anthiesliving with John & Sarah. And, then in the 1870 Census Sarah is gone and Nettie (age 20) is keeping house, along Elizabeth (age 16) and Isaac (age 14) living with John Anthis. Franklin, Mary Elizabeth & Isaac Anthis were the children of John Jr. & Matilda Jane Starnator Anthis. So something must have happen to John Jr. & wife before 1860 census. Likewise it would appear that something happen to William & Elizabeth before the 1860 Census. And by 1870 Manatta (Nettie) was heeping house for her grandfather John Anthis. If these census are close to correct Manetta was born around 1848-1849). Which would fit with the Knox Co., In marriage some William & Elizabeth.
Also Nellie E. Anthis was Manetta's daughter, which she had before married George and she were marries. Nellie was the half sister of my grandfather Geotge Michael Goodart the only child of Manetta & George Goodart (he was born in Germany 10-31-1819 and was named Johann George Gutekunst, Gutekunst is Goodart in English). According to Manetta's & George marriage record, Manetta's was 29 when she and George got married in April 1778.
You stated in you 7-17-06 posting that William died before 1860 (which agree with based on Nada J. living with her grandfather in1860) BUT do you have any other info to help subatantiate this? And what happen to Elizabeth?
Nancy I would appreciate anything you can add to this.
Thanks Ty Goodart
