Billy's stepfather, William Henry Harrison Antrim, was a son of Levi Antrim.William had a number of siblings, many of whom were born in Ohio and Indiana.Their homestead in the 1850s and '60s was around Anderson, Madison County, Indiana.
At some point in the 1860s William met Catherine McCarty and her sons Henry and Joe.This probably occurred in Indianapolis, but it's not clear. They apparently cohabitated for some time before relocating to Kansas and New Mexico. It's believed that Antrim and McCarty were married in Kansas.
After Catherine died of TB in the 1870s, Antrim tried to keep the boys. But they were pretty headstrong and went their own ways.We know what happened to Billy.Joe later located to Denver and died after the turn of the century.
So it's entirely possible that your ancestors were related to William and, thus, by marriage to Billy the Kid.
