Apple in Indiana ca 1830-1850
Looking for information on the roots of great grandmother Rachel (Barnes) Morgan.Per information of one of my aged uncles, "Grandmother Rachel (Barnes) Morgan's mother's maiden name was Apple."
The following is from a book of pioneer memoirs written by one of her sons:
"Rachel Barnes was born in Indiana March 14, 1844. Her parents moved to Arkansas from Indiana just before the Civil War. Eighteen children were born to them. The father died in time of the war. One son served in the army under General Blunt. About the end of the war they moved into Kansas where my parents were married."
The book also mentions that Rachel had a brother (not named) who lived in Kickapoo, Kansas, around 1864-1966.
Rachel Barnes married Thomas McBride Morgan in Miami County, Kansas, April 3, 1864.
Does anyone out there have an Apple family in Indiana who had a daughter that married a Mr. Barnes.....around 1820, give or take ten years?
