Hi Ralph,
My Appel's were from Wolferborn.

The name Maier. I have Mahr's from the Hesse Darmstadt-Arlheilgen, Rhein-Hesse Darmstadt, Germany
Region. 16-1700's. Do you think they could be Maiers?
Regards,
Carol Ritsert Kennedy
