will be preserved in a read-only format, while several other features will

I think that Bascom must be the son of a first marriage for Leroy B. Apple, or else his birth date is wrong (1880 insteadof 1860). My ancestor Benjamin Merrill Davis (1791-c1875) of Brush Creek, Smith Co., TN had a daughter Mary Francis "Fanny" Davis (born about 1836) who was a Civil War widow with one son (John F. Simpson, born 1863) when she married Leroy B. Apple on 20 October 1873 in Smith Co. TN. Their known children (1880 census) were Leroy B. Apple, born c1875, Bettie H. Apple, born c.1875, and Benny D., born c1879. Interestingly, her older sister Elizabeth "Sarah" Davis (c1825-c1867) had been married to a man named Kyle, and by him had a son Robert Kyle of Denton Co TX (and James D. of Palo Pinto Co TX) mentioned in the Smith Co. probate of Benjamin's estate in 1877-78. If both Bascom and Robert had known the death of their mother at an early age that might be a bond?
