Hi Mike,
I'm not sure but I may have some info on the Applegarth Family...or perhaps you can help me.I am very new at genealogy research.
I have a 1930 census on a William and Mary Applegarth living in Jefferson County, Ohio (Rayland to be exact)That is just on the Belmont County line.Perhaps you should call up the Jefferson County census to search for more of your relatives.(It doesn't appear that Jefferson County does a good job posting and cross referencing information on the net compared with Belmont County genealogy research).
I believe this family originated in Belmont County because I just recently found my birth certificate listing my mother as Ruth Applegarth who was born in St. Clairsville, Belmont County, Ohio to William and Mary Applegarth. (I was named Mary Applegarth on the birth certificate)The census lists Ruth as 2-1/2 years old with a brother William, Jr. as 4-1/2 years old.
Perhaps there is a connection you may be interested in.
Regards,
Linda
