I am looking for information on Matthew Davis. In 1850, he was living in Bradley County, Arkansas. Matthew Davis was born ca. 1778 in North Carolina. John Davis was the head of the household, and he was born ca. 1800 in Georgia. Margaret was the wife of John Davis. John Davis had six children, and five of the children were born in Alabama. John Davis' brother, George, was also in the household with two sons. George was born ca. 1811 in Georgia.

In 1850, Woodward "Woody" King Davis was also living in Bradley County, Arkansas. On December 28, 1804, Woody was born in DeKalb County, Georgia. In 1824, Woodward King Davis and Mary "Molly" Splawn were married in Montgomery County, Alabama. In 1840, Woody and Mary lived in Pike County, AL. In 1860, they lived in Anderson County, Texas. I believe that they returned to Bradley County, AR. On October 3, 1865, Woody King Davis died. On September 13, 1863, Mary Splawn died.

Was Woody King Davis related to Matthew Davis?
