Looking for information for any Swains in Bradley County, Arkansas circa 1870 to 1900. A doctor by the name of Charles Swain from NH is not part my family.
I have researched the census records. My ancestor is Elijah Swain or Swan born 1851 in Alabama, and lived in Bradley County. The first record of him is a marriage to Martha Adams 1875. She filed for divorce in 1879. Later in 1879 he married Eliza Bone of Bradley County. He owned property in Sumptor and Marion township.
