I am looking for my ggrandfather, William Henson Markham who was born September 9, 1854 in Arkhansas, possibly Clark County. All I know is that his parents died when he was very young and he was raised by relatives. In the 1860 Census, there is a W. H. Markham, age 5, living with John and Rhachi Markham. In the 1870 census of Clark County, William Markham, age 17, is living with G.W.(?) (can't read writing) and Sarah Markham. My ggrandfather came to Texas and in the 1880 census of Bell County, Texas he is married to Mary Elizabeth Sutton. I am trying to find out who were the parents of William Henson Markham. Also I am trying to find out which family of Markhams he is directly related to. Are his uncles Russell Markham born in 1820; William H. Markham, born in 1822 and Carter Markham, born in 1924. Who was the father of these men? Are they brothers or cousins? Any direction would be helpful.
