I am trying to find the marriage date of Jonathan Berry Hawkins b.1829 SC d. 1871 Clark Co. AR. to Sarah A. McElhannon b. 1838 GA di. 1899 AR. Jonathan was (I believe) married first to Amy C. Johnston b. 1841 and I think died sometime about 1864/65.
Jonathan remarried to Sarah A. McElhannon/probably prior to Jan. 1866 as their first child was born in Oct. 1866. This family is listed in the 1870 census for South Fork Township, Clark Co. AR.
He is listed with first wife, Amy, in the 1860 census for Caddo Township, Spring Valley, Clark Co. AR.
I have not been able to find a marriage license for Jonathan and Sarah. Not being familiar with that area of AR, I wonder if either of the about townships were near enough to another county so that they might have married in another county. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
