Allison,

I spotted your call for Weir participants for the DNA project. I know that you had earlier posted information or queries about an Elijah Turner and a connection to the Weirs.

Do you know of any living male Turners descended from Elijah Turner born 22 Dec 1783 GA who went to Gibson Co. IN where he died 17 Mar 1866 in Gibson Co. IN--married Margaret Miller?

We have recently had a Turner test in our Turner DNA Project from the line of Samuel Marshall Turner who is "purported" to be one of the orphaned brothers--Elisha, Elijah, and Samuel Turner--and we would like to get a descendant of Elijah to test for comparison.

That could help determine if in fact the two lines have any possible connection or if they are not related at all.

We also have the line of Turners from Pittsylvania Co. VA in the project that intermarried with Ross and they do not match.

Some people have tried to tie Elijah and Elisha into the Zadock Turner line. The line of Samuel Marshall Turner does not match the Zadock Turner line.

Hope you might have contact with someone still researching the Elijah Turner line who would be able to locate a living male Turner descended from him to test.

Gail R. Blancett, Administrator, Turner DNA Project
