Page 275, #2291, Wm. Morse, enlisted in Rifle Co. A, US Army under Capt. W. Bradford, Jan.13,1818 at Fort Smith (AR). He was 6-2 tall, blue eyes, brown hair, fair, age 30, farmer, born Rhode Island. William Morse's son, Preserved Morse, enlisted same day and place, page 236, #1757. He was 4-1 tall, blue eyes, brown hair, fair, age 9 (yes nine) years old and born in Ohio.
