Gibson Bayou Church and Cemetery, established 1865, will be holding a Dedication Celebration on Saturday, September 16, 2006 to dedicate the newly rebuilt church. The church was rebuilt between 2004-2006 with donations and volunteer labor. This will be an all day event beginning at 9:00 A.M.

Planned events will include a Bake Sale - Silent Auction - Musical Entertainment - Food - Drinks. Several nice items will be offered through the Silent Auction including donated works of Carroll Cloar. A drawing will be held for an attractive stainless grill. Tickets for the drawing are available for a donation of $1.00 each or 6 tickets for $5.00. Tickets can be obtained from any committee member and will also be available on the day of the event. You need not be present to win.

A book will be available for sale that includes a history of the church along with the names of people buried in the cemetery. All funds collected from the events, and the sale of book, will be used for the care and upkeep of the church and cemetery. We would also like to hear from anyone who might be willing to donate their time or talents.

Donations of items for the Silent Auction can be made by contacting Jack Stepp at (870) 792-7574. Anyone wishing to donate items for the bake sale can contact Ellen Holloway at (870) 792-7342.

Gibson Bayou Church is located in Crittenden County, 2 miles north of Earle, Arkansas on US Highway 149. Upkeep of this church and cemetery is provided through volunteer donations. Please make plans to bring your family and lawn chairs and spend the day with us.
