Hello, Beverly. Yes, I am still kicking around. You can contact me directly (wdbostick@aol.com), but I don't have a John Reeves/Rives in that era - I'll share what I do have. One source to possibly check:
J.R. Childs (1923), Reliques of the Rives
Burwell Rives (#5), son of Frederick (#4) b ~ 1762 in Brunswick Co, VA; d 1811 Union Co. VA. Married 27 Nov 1785 Mary Gillum in Henry Co., VA. Moved to Union Co., KY, in 1807 where his will dated Sep 23, 1811 was probated Oct 28, 1811. He specified that all his lands lying in the County of Franklin, VA, be sold & proceeds divided equally among his 8 children: Elizabeth, Nancy, Peter, Polly, Lucy, Sally (w/o Thomas Prunty).
Peter Gillum Rives (#2018) (Burwell, Frederick, Joseph, George, William), b VA - presumably Franklin Co - accompanied his father to KY and lived in that state and Arkansas. Said to have owned ~ 8,000 ac of land on the White and St. Francis rivers in Ark. Said to have settled in Crittenden Co., Ark, before Pierce became President. 1842-3, member of lower house of Ark. Legislature, and 1844 elected to State Senate. Died in union Co., KY. Married 1st in Henderson Co., KY, Mar 9, 1823 to Martha A. Davis, a native of Henderson Co., who died there when her only child (PGR, Jr.) was still an infant. PGR Sr is stated to marry 2nd in Ark. Miss _ Taylor (had at least 1 child, Samuel).
