Do any of these Matthews ring a bell with anyone

Have been hitting a brick wall with finding the parents of Benjamin P. Matthews, My wifes' ggrandfather. This past week we obtained a probated will of his brother M(Marshall). D. Matthews. The will was filed in Drew County AR in Jan. 1882. In the will he request his brother, Benjamin P. Matthews be appointed Guardian of his infant son, John Edgar Matthews (who was about 9 at that time). In the will two other family members are mentioned---A brother Samuel who was about 22 and a Brother-In-Law, James D Rawkin--best as we can make out the spelling. Benjamin lived in Ashland, Boone, MO at the time. We are a little confused at this time because in the 1880 census M.D. Matthews and family were in Boone Co. MO. Members of the family were his wife Sallie an invalid, son John--age 7, a daughter 2 1/2 (some comment we couldn't make out) brother Samuel and a hired hand. In late Jan 1882 M.D. died in Drew Co. AR. The will does not mention the daughter or wife. Just wondering if these names ring a bell with any one.
