Found Ancestry.com, US Army Registry of enlistments 1798-1914, page 275, #2291, William MORSE enlisted in Rifle Co. A, US Army under Capt. Wm. Bradford, JAN.13,1818 at Fort Smith, (AR). He was 6-2 tall,blue eyes, brown hair, fair, age 30, farmer, born Rhode Island. William MORSE's son,
Preserved MORSE, enlisted the same day and place, page 236, #1757. He was 4-1 tall, blue eyes, brown hair, fair, age 9 (yes nine) years old and born in Ohio. Both were enlisted as privates.

William and Preserved MORSE later lived in Franklin and
Crawford Counties, AR.
