My grandmother, Bertha M. (Valentine) Brooks, was orphaned and adopted/raised by Amanda Richardson, also known as "Grandma Mandy" in Hot Springs beginning sometime around 1914-15 through 1927. Amanda was credited with founding the local chapter of the Salvation Army in Hot Springs, but her religious affiliation is unknown.

She had a daughter named Willie whose married name was "Shortreed". Willie's children may have been named Hiram, Nellie, Dorothy and Thelma. Dorothy's married name was "Gambil".

Have not had contact with members of this family since the late 1960's and would like to find and descendants.
