No relation---just have some Garland Co sources and hope to help. Mrs. Mary Campbell d. Feb 16, 1907. Funeral ordered through Gross Mortuary by Sam Campbell at a cost of $72. No indication of parents or burial site. Samuel Campbell 60 md. Nancy Evans 50 on Sept 4, 1923 in Garland Co. AR Bk28/pg432 Samuel Campbell b. Apr 7, 1863 d. Nov 18, 1933 sp. Nancy buried in Ten Mile Cemetery by Gross Mortuary. (No marker shown in the cemetery records) In the 1900 census, it is shown that Mary had had one child but it is not alive on this census. Found no information on a child's death. That supports the adoption theory of Samuel T shown as a son on the 1910 census (he wasn't shown on the 1900 when he would have been about 2 yrs old.) Samuel is still on the 1920 Garland Co census but the name is misspelled as Cambell. He is shown as a retired merchant,56 yrs old b. NY; father b. Ire. and mother b. IL....but don't let that throw you because someone else may have given the census info incorrectly having heard Samuel refer to both NY and IL as places the family may have lived at one time. You might want to go to the FamilySearch site and look up the 1881 Canadian census....there is only one Samuel Campbell b. in 1863. Father is John and mother is Catherine, all of Scottish ethnicity. Just as a suggestion, list ALL the children shown for this couple, then try to find them according to approximate ages in the 1900/1910 and 1920 censuses. It is likely that the whole family came to the USA or at least some of the children. Wishing you the best on your search...let me know if you confirm this info, please....
