Community of "Missouri" in Hempstead Co., 1822

Where is the township called "Missouri" that existed in Hempstead Co. in 1822?

The marriage certificate of Dorcas Cannen and William H. Harrell states:

Arkansas Territory
Hempstead County

_s Be it remembered
that on the 12th day of December A D 1822
I William Beaty one of the acting Justice
of the peace in and for the township of
Missouri and County Aforsaid do hereby
Certify that I have this day solemnized
the nuptiens between William H Harrell
And Dorcas Cannen both the parties
of the County Aforesaid Given
under my hand and seal the
day and date above written --

William Beaty

I'm wondering if this Dorcas Cannen is Dorcas Cannon, daughter of Robert and Nancy Cannon.

The Dorcas Cannon that I know of married Joseph Shaver sometime before 1830. Joseph Shaver lived in Claiborne Parish, LA in 1830. They later had a large family. They moved to Anderson County, Texas perhaps in the 1850's.

In 1828, Dorcas's sister, Nancy Cannon, married George W. Wilson in Lafayette Co., AR. A George M. Wilson lives close to Robert Cannon and Joseph Shaver in 1830 in Claiborn Parish, LA.

Could it be that this township of Missouri was in the newly formed Lafayette Co., AR of 1828?

Thank you.

Marcella
