I am looking for information on my g-grandfather Samuel R. Brock born about 1855 who moved to Izard county about 1910-1913. They moved from Crockett county TN after his wife Lena (Pollard) died of unknown causes. They settled in the Barren Fork (now Mt Pleasant) and Sydney area.
He died in 1913 leaving two children: John William, my grandfather, who went to live with the Bruce and Lela Ball household and Flora who went to an unknown family.
Sam was known as S.R. Brock as well. His father was William James Brock of TN and AL. There is a William James listed in the 1870 census living with a Sarah C. in AR but I think my ancestor was in Hardeman county TN at that time.
