I am looking for any information concerning a Francis A. Small, born in Alabama around 1835 or 1836. In 1850, he is listed on the census in Smith, Drew County, Arkansas.
I believe Francis A. Small married Mary A. Childers/Childress (born in Kentucky abt. 1835) on Aug. 9, 1857 in Jackson County, Arkansas. In 1850, there is a Mary A. Childers in Henderson County, Kentucky. Her mother's name is listed as Zilphia.
In 1859, Francis & Mary had a daughter named Zilphia. In 1860, they are all living in Jackson County, AR along with a Jesse Small. In 1870, Mary A. is listed in Ballard County, Kentucky with her three young daughters - Zilphia, age 11; Harriett, age 9; and Mary E., age 7.
I am particularly interested in finding out more about Harriett Small. She (along with her sisters) was born in Arkansas abt. 1861. I believe there is a chance that Harriett married my great-great grandfather, Eugene Ball, but need more information before I can connect this. On the 1880 census with Eugene, his wife is listed only by the initials H. F., born about 1861 in Arkansas.
Any help at all would be greatly appreciated!
