My proven GG Grandfather was Alexander WOMACK (about 1837-after 1870)
Full name may have been Alexander William or William Alexander.
He is on the 1870 census of Drew County, Arkansas as Alexander WOMACK...age 33, with wife, Mary..age 17, and one daughter, Willie M....age 1. Two years later, they had a 2nd daughter, Manie Leona. On that census, he says he was born in Illinois.
On the list of marriages in Drew County 1861-1869 (no specific years given) my proven GG Grandmother, Mary E. STUCKEY is shown marrying "William WOMACK", undoubtedly the same man.
In 1876, Mary, listed as a widow, remarries a man named William Porter DICKSON, born in Tennessee...so it seems obvious Alexander (or William) died between 1870 and 1876.
I'd like the name of Alexander's father and mother, and the line connecting the family back to the earlier WOMACKS. Sorry, I don't have a county in Illinois. Thanks a lot.
