James, right name wrong regiment. I, finally, found the information I was searching for. Thomas Spencer Hurt was not in the Clarksville area until sometime around 1900. He was enlisted as a Private in Power's 14th Infantry Company E which was organized in the northwetern region of the state. The regiment fought at Elkhorn Tavern, moved east of the Mississippi and was attached to other units from there. After being captured on July 9. 1863 the regiment was not reorganized.
