Finding records on them can't be easy. Each census, 1900 in Cross Co., AR, 1910 & 1920 in Lee Co., AR, has them born somewhere different, and I notice that the 1910 census indicates 4 children, the oldest age 8, but Emmett and wife married only 5 years, and the wife credited with only 3 births. It doesn't help that there appears to be a Garland McMurry in later census records, son of William McMurry, with this Garland being same age as the son of Emmett.
Have you looked into the Emmett McMurry death in Pulaski Co., AR, possibly Emmett jr.?
There are McMurrays/McMurrys in Ashley Co., AR marriage records as early as 1873.
