Charles Butler
RISON, AR — Charles Ray Butler, 64, of Rison, formerly of Star City and Lincoln County, died Sunday (Nov. 2, 2008?).
He was born June 21, 1944, at Altheimer, a son of the late Fred and Ora Wooley Butler. He graduated from Star City High School, where he played football and basketball. Fred Butler was a longtime employee of C & L Electric Cooperative. The Butlers attended the Methodist Church at Star City.
He was a retired carman for the Cottonbelt Railroad.
Survivors by his marriage to Kay Cherry (now Blevins) of Grady include one son, Paul Butler of Rison; a younger brother, James Fred Butler of Cornerville; a half sister, JoAnn Pitonyak of Hazen; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Memorial services were at 2 p.m. Friday at Griffin Funeral Service at Star City.
The family gathered at the home of Paul Butler, 110 Lawrence Cove at Rison.
