Looking for info on ancestors with the surnames Bowman, Hale, Robertson, Colston, and Capps. George Bowman married a Maggie Hale. They may have come to Ark. from Alabama. Maggie is said to have been Cherokee. They lived in Pope and Johnson counties, but they are enumerated in the Logan Co. 1900 census, and George is also found in the 1920 census. George died around 1924, Maggie around 1911-12. Their children were Mollie, Frank, Joe, Jess, Myra, Myrtle, and Minnie. Mollie Bowman married James Robertson and was my paternal ggrandmother. George and Maggie may be buried near Scranton. James L. Robertson and Sarah Frances Colston were the parents of James Robertson, and also lived in the region. James died around 1910, Sarah Frances around 1938. My ggrandfather Obadiah Capps came to Ark. from Tenn. and also lived in the Logan/Pope/Johnson co. region. He may have also been known by his initials, Z.O. Capps. He was a Pentecostal minister and married many couples. Obadiah died in 1909. It is not known where he is buried. His widow Josephine was later living in Ok. with their son Willis Capps and had remarried. These are all ancestors on my paternal side. Any info at all on any of these folks would be greatly appreciated, esp. any info on Maggie Hale. Notify Administrator about this message?
