Thank you for the information. Daniel Ivie was blind. He fell into a bucket of lye and his family put water on his eyes....so the story goes. He was also an extremely good fiddle player and traveled the country playing the fiddle. He was on his way back from Nebraska when he died. No one seems to know where he is buried. Do you know where Victor Harris EDWARDS and Katherine TITSWORTH EDWARDS are buried? I believe that Victor died around 1858. Delilah Jane Ivey first married Jasper Dawson of Carrol County, then John Hawkins of Texas. She had two daughters, Nancy E. "Kittie", and Laverna Annamantha. Laverna married Alonzo Fishback in Texas, and, as you wrote, Nancy (Everyone called her Kittie") married James Gresham Flournoy. Delilah had three sons with John....John, who, when he was older, moved to Dewey County, Okla; Lesley and Marvin Baxter. Nancy, and I suppose Laverna too, were given Cherokee Indian allotments around Tulsa. Their and some of the Dawson family from Carrol County, Ark. received allotments which extended from Tulsa to Owasso, Okla. Do you know if Vardaman Ivie was married to a Martha Hall or Martha Qualls. A lady wrote me letter a few years back and said that her grandmother , Martha, had married Vardman a year or so after Nancy died, and she (Martha) received Vardman's Army pension. I didn't know anything about that, and have been unable to locate any such information. I've been to the Huntsville Cemetery and I saw Nancy's headstone. I was told that Jasper Dawson's grave site was next to Isaac Murphy, but there wasn't a headstone, so I wasn't able to vertify that he was buried there. Again, thank you for your help. dee Notify Administrator about this message?
