Dee, In your post you said, “Daniel Ivie was blind. He fell into a bucket of lye and his family put water on his eyes....so the story goes. He was also an extremely good fiddle player and traveled the country playing the fiddle. He was on his way back from Nebraska when he died. No one seems to know where he is buried.” I’m hoping you can give me more information on Daniel Baxter Ivey. Apparently, Daniel’s second marriage was to a “Maggie” Galloway. Daniel and Maggie had two children- a daughter Leota Pearl Ivey (1890) and a son J.A.V. Ivey (1895). I do have information on Pearl Ivey but nothing on her brother except this: Apparently, the initial “V” in her brother’s name stood for “Vard”. He registered for the WWI draft in 1918, so we have his birth date. I don’t know when or where Maggie Galloway Ivey died. Do you have any more information about Daniel Baxter Ivey- when he died and in what state/county he died? Any information you can supply will be appreciated.
