Hi Joy,
Pam Russell here; Russell pedigree (James Marion-John Willard-Elias L.-Doyle James-Robert Doyle). I am interested in the Buckhanan/Buchanan family of War Eagle Twp. in Madison County, AR. Specifically, two questions. There was a young man named Rollie or Reaghta H. Buchanan in the 1850 census for War Eagle TWP, ten-year-old son of John Montgomery Buchanan and Catherine Airheart Buchanan. He was shown on the census to be "deaf and dumb". This may be a clue to the genetic hearing loss our Russell/Buchanan family suffers from. I would like any information about hearing loss in this Buchanan family.

Second question. Rollie had a brother, John Littleton Trout Buchanan who married a woman with the initials E. J. on April 3, 1856 in Madison Co., AR. We have several theories about who this woman was but none fit exactly - perhaps Elanore J. Keeling or Eleanore J. Perry or Eliza Jane Keeling. If anyone has information about this person I'd love to hear from them.

One last thing, I see from the 1850 census for Madison County that there are several families with the last name Trout. My husband's relative is John Littleton Trout Buchanan. Any idea what the Trout connection is to the Buchanan line?
