Clifton Family
Not giving up on finding the parents and birthplace of old George Clifton (1761-1840. He fought in the Rev War and then lived in Ga and Alabama.I have heard from a lot of folks and wanted to summarize what I have found in hopes another relative has found something.Here we go:

George Clifton, Jr. married Nancy Patey/Paty.
George and Nancy had several children, of whom these have been identified:

--James Marion Clifton, born 17 Sept 1821 GA, died 2 Mar1880 Coconino Arizona
--Elizabeth P. Clifton, born 1824 GA, married Thomas Young Daniel, born 29 June Burke NC, died 9 April 1885 Pope Arkansas
--Nancy Caroline Clifton, born 25 Apr 1825 GA, died 23 Jul 1904, married Leonard Addison Daniel, born 23 April 1821 Burke NC, died 9 Sept 1889, Cherokee County AL
--George William Clifton III, born 1830 GA
--Elijah P. Clifton, born 28 Jun 1830, died Houston, Arkansas
--Martha Ann Cleveland Clifton, born 10 Oct 1833 GA, died 30 May 1865, Cherokee County AL, married William McKentra Randle, born 5 May 1830, died 10 Oct 1907, Hunt TX.
George III married Mary A F Wilder.They had the following children:
---John M. Clifton, born Dec 1859 AL; he eventually married a woman named Sarah, born 1861, and was a farmer in Cherokee County AL; John and Sarah had at least two children, a son named George Paul, and a daughter named Mattie Lee. John and Sarah appear on the 1930 Census living in the household of their son George. Sarah died on 2 May 1948, and John appears to have died sometime in the 1930s.

---Charles C. Clifton, born 1870; he doesn’t appear on any censuses after 1880 and it has not been determined what eventually happened to him
---Beulah Mackye Clifton, born 1874; she never married and continued living with her widowed mother until Mary’s death. On the 1920 and 1930 Census, she resides in Gadsden, Etowah County in the household of her nephew Earnest, the eldest son of her brotherJames T., and works as a bookkeeper at an icehouse. She alternately goes by the names Beulah, Mackye, Mackie on the various censuses. Since the 1930 Census is the last available, and no death record appears for her, the date and place of her death are not known at this time.
James Thomas Clifton married Josephine R. Harwell and they had the following children:

Henry Bass, born 8 Feb 1891, died 9 Dec 1978
Grover Chester, born Dec 1892, died 10 Feb 1976
Martie Roland, born Dec 1897, died ??
Henry Bass Clifton married Alma Aliene Hickman and they had 2 children:Henry Bass Clifton, Jr amd James Thomas Clifton.
Henry Bass Clifton married Lula Maude Haigler and they had Ronald Thomas Clifton and James Richard Clifton (me!!!)
