William Smith Jones was the son of John William Jones and Elizabeth Eddy. He was born in Madison County, Alabama in 1842 and came to Arkansas with his parents and siblings about 1845. (This information from his pension record.) He married first Sarah Elizabeth "Sallie" Franklin probably in Scott County, Arkansas about 1871. Nov 1854 48 AR MS MS --------------------------------------------- William Smith Jones married second Lucinda Emmerline "Emma" Stanford on 18 Dec 1910 in Polk County, Arkansas. ----------------------------------------------- Emma was first married to a Stanford and according to my grandmother's aunt she had a son named C. B. Stanford. After Uncle William died, Lucinda married William Jess Oller. Jess was first married to Matilda Armenia Jones Welch. Aunt Matilda was first married to Thomas Welch, who died in the Civil War. Matilda was the sister of William Smith Jones. ------------------------------------------- I believe it possible that Emma maried a G. B. Standford in about 1875. Stanford Jones Oller is buried at Barber Cemetery in Montgomery County, Arkansas. I would like to find out Emma's surname and more information on her first husband and children.
