Looking for information on ROBERT DORRIS and his WIFE ADDIE (KAHN/KOHN) DORRIS, m. July 26, 1899 [license dated July 24, 1899], in Ouachita Parish, La. At the time of marriage, Robert was age 21, Addie age 15. [Note: 'Kahn' may be 'Kohn']. A year later, in 1900 census they lived in Ward 5, West Monroe, LA (Ouachita Parish) and appear on the same census page as my great-grandmother's household (Elizabeth WHITE). Addie and Robert say in the census they were born in Arkansas, as were their parents. I haven't been able to find them in any forum (census or other) since 1900. Witnesses at their wedding were N. Kahn[Kohn?], Isaac H. Beasley, and W. E. Dorris (the latter is my grandfather). Minister at wedding was J.W. (or J.M.) Beard. I do NOT know that these are my ancestors. However, one of their wedding witnesses, N. Kahn, was also a witness two months earlier, May 24, 1899, at my grandparents wedding: Will (William Edward) Dorris m. Mary Josephine [White] Dorris in Ouachita Parish. And my grandfather was a witness at Robert's and Addie's wedding. ------------------------ William Edward Dorris b. Jun 1878 in AL, d. 28 Nov 1936 in West Monroe, LA, s/o John Dorris and "Miss Painter", both of AL. Mary Josephine [White] Dorris, b. Oct 1874, Natchitoches LA, d. Jan 1962, West Monroe, LA, d/o Greenbury (b. AL) and Elizabeth/Lizzie WHITE (maiden name unknown, b. LA). Any information would be appreciated. Russ Notify Administrator about this message?
