HI Bob
I have much early information on the O'Shields family, from John Osheal and his wife Alice Apsley to their son David Osheal, his son Daniel Osheal, etc. I descend from Jethro Osheal, son of Daniel, while the line you mention is from John Osheal, also a son of Daniel. Both served in the Revolutionary War.
Isaac O'Shields was the first cousin of Elizabeth Osheal Hewitt, daughter of Jethro Osheal.
Best Wishes
David Travillion Bunton
PS I have more research on the Arkansas branches too.
