My grandparents, James Alexander and Martha Jefferson (Goode) Cocke were on the 1900 and 1920 Pike Co, Arkansas Census...living in the Thompson Track Township...Does anyone know where that area is located in Pike CO...??? Is this in the Murfreesboro, AR area??? They were there for those two census times...do not know when they were first in the area....Martha,was listed as M.J. Ballard, sister, and Cornelia Goode, mother, were living with James R. Goode, listed as head of house, on the 1880 Panola Co, MS census. Martha and James Alexander were married in 1885 in TATE CO, MS. James Alexander Cocke was living with his brother, Henry Harris and family, on the 1880 Tate CO, MS census, and his first wife had died in Oct 1879, after giving birth to a daughter Sep 1879. James is listed as single with approx. 9 mo old daughter. There is a record in a book of James being married to a "MOTHERSHED" woman, but cannot locate any information to confirm...Martha and James Cocke's children were all born in AR...probably, in the Pike Co, AR area. Two daughters...Jane Alvin Cocke married a George Ballard in Pike Co,approx. after 1900 & before 1910 and Effie Cocke married a "McClure", approx.
1910, believe in the general area. Also, a daughter Ola Cocke, would like to find out if, when, & who she may have married? Possibly married just after 1910. There may be children or grandchildren of Effie and Ola that I'd like to find. James and Martha Cocke move to Ouachita CO, AR and are there on the 1920 census, with their younger children...)Eula, who married a Tutt, in Camden, AR,
)Samuel M., who married (1)Mary Jane Wallace, who died in 1925? Samuel married (2)Lillie Ellen Barkhimer in 1928.
)Johnny, who married Lola Kanada, and )William, who married
? unknown...Any help with information on this family will be greatly appreciated......please contact me at..........
