Hi June,

Sorry it took me a couple of days to get back to you, there were a couple of things I wanted to check out.

Effie "Cocke" McClure is buried at the Biggs Chapel Academy Cemetery. her grave is unmarked. she died O1 Feb. 1915. Thomas Mason Mcclure is also buried there. His grave is marked.

I checked the Arkansas Death index 1914-1923 by Desmond Allen Walls. There is a death record for a Effa C. McClure of Howard county, Arkansas, died 01 February 1915.
Nathan is right on the line between Pike and Howard Counties. The Pike county seat (Murfreesboro) and the
Howard County Seat (Nashville) are only 12 miles apart.

There was no marriage record for Effie Cocke in Pike County.....but there is a marriage record for a Thomas Mason Mcclure to Effie "Fox" in Howard County, 06 October 1912, Book J page 61.
Many people in this area called the Cocke name "Cox" so I am assuming that the name was mispronounced and misspelled since it is believed that Thomas Mason McClure did not marry for a third time.

Thomas Mason's first wife was Lucy Alice westfall, she is buried at the Sweet Home Cemetery In Pike county. Her grave is not marked. It is believed at this time that, there were no children of the second marriage To Effie. Although there were several children from the marriage to Lucy Westfall.
One of those children Delia "McClure" Barnes (now deceased) stated in an early interview with one of our members, "that Effie was the only mother I ever knew.

I did find the information for Ola Cocke. Information below:
Marriage record.
A. N. Thomas, 19 & Ola Cocke 18, on 28 August 1905, Recorded Pike County marriage book C, page 111.

1910 Pike Co. Arkansas Federal census,
Thompson Twp.
Pg. 335A

D/F No. 280/285

<Thomas>
Andrew N., H M W 24 M1 4 AR LA AR
Ola, W F W 22 M1 4 3 1 AR TN TN
Homer, S M W 02 S AR AR AR

the 4 applies to the years married. the 3 to no. of children born and the 1 to how many children living.

the email address that is included with this answer belongs to PCAHS. If you will email me at my home, I can give you the email address of the person that researches this McClure line. she has quite a bit of information.

I hope this helped you out a little bit.

Happy digging,

Jan Mcg.
