These two men married two sisters of my father, Samuel M.Cocke
..On the 1900 & 1910 Pike Co,Thompson Twp, AR census..James Alexander Cocke and Martha Jefferson (Goode), (1st husband ? Ballard)-(2nd husband James Cocke). James's (daughter by first marriage) was Alvin Jane(Cocke) m. George Ballard in Pike Co, AR..
James & Martha's (1st daughter), Effie Cocke(FOX-incorrect
in book) m. Thomas Mason McClure in Howard Co,AR on 06 OCT 1912, Book J Page 61. (No information that there were children, although, he had several children from first wife, Lucy Alice Westfall, who died).
James & Marhta's (2nd daughter)Ola Cocke m. Andrew N.Thomas
in Pike Co, AR on 28 AUG 1905...Book C Page 111.
On the 1910 PIke Co census for Thompson Twp,
Andrew and Ola have a two yr son, HOMER, with them...Trying to find anyone from either of the three families...McClure, Thomas, or Ballard, who may have any information, especially, any descendants of HOMER Thomas, my aunt's son. Also, the Ballard man that my grandmother, Martha Jefferson (Goode) married? She was shown on the 1880 census for Panola Co, MS
living with her brother, James R. Goode, mother, Cornelia Ann (Hopper)Goode, and Martha was listed as M.J. Ballard.
All three of them were listed as being widowed...Have never known who this Ballard was, but, James'child (by his first wife, Malissa Patman),Alvin Jane Cocke...married Geo Ballard in Pike Co, AR...Could Martha's first husband have been a relation to her stepdaughter's husband?
