Hi there, I just wanted to touch base with you because I am currently researching the Isham P. Latimer Family. I started with the boys (who are usually soooo much easier to find), and I am just beginning on the girls. I suspect that the Lucetta Davis found in Pike County who has the same birth year as "our" Lucetta Latimer b. 1841 is indeed her. I will make a note of your findings and I'll let you know if I unearth anything. Unfortunately, the marriage records for Pike County burned. :-( I have been able to locate John A., Isham P. Jr., and Washington P. Latimer in Texas--all Civil War veterans. (Also, Lafayette was killed at Chickamauga and Wm. Ross, my G-Grandfather, was shot in the hip there). In addition, Mary A. J. Meers' son, William F., a very promising young man, was killed in the Civil War. He had been working as a clerk in a drug store in Washington, Arkansas. William F. Meers enlisted in the 19th Arkansas, Dawson's Regt. at Center Point, Arkansas on 18 Oct 1861. He reached the rank of adjutant (field officer) and died 23 Aug 1862 in the Trans-Mississippi Department. He was the son of Moses Meers, and I have located that family back in Georgia and South Carolina. While I am no expert on Lucetta, I will surely help you look!
