Thanks so much for the information. My deceased husband was Samuel William Kruse, son of Walter and Flora Belle Spencer Kruse. Flora was the daughter of Samuel P and Rhoda Ann Ainley Spencer. Little was known about the Spencer family except some of them were in Tennessee, Missouri and Arkansas. Some of the older members of the family have told me that Thomas Marion Spencer, b. about 1836 (the father of Samuel P.) was married to Victoria Stevens and that she was buried in Shiloh Cemetery. I have not been able to prove any of this. Is this the Thomas Spencer who served in the 23rd Reg. Arkansas Calvery during the Civil War?

My husband's Spencer line came to Indiana and settled in the Ft. Wayne, Allen County, area. I can give you information on this line.
