UPDATE! After 20 years of research on my part a family member finally found a clue! We now know that Charles' middle initial was J. Based on descendants names it was probably Jesse, Jerome, or Joseph.
Charles is Charles J. Stewart born 1817 in MS d. Waldron, Scot Co., AR 1884

They found: "Pliny Fisk, first Choctaw ordained into Presbyterian ministry, and who took charge of Mt. Zion Church in 1848 when it was organized, Jonathan Dwight, Elijah Brewer, CHARLES J. STEWART, George L. Williams, etc"
It went on to talk about the Choctaws who were members of the church with a serious mention of Cyrus Byington, repeatedly. Best I can figure this was on the AR/OK border, probably in The Eagle County ( Acukshunnubbee District ) Choctaw Nation _ 1860 not far from Dequeen AR.
This is very exciting news to us, but now we are trying to figure out how to build on this. Does anyone know of a Mt. Zion Presbyterian church in this area? It would probably be the McCurtain or Lafore county area.
His son Jesse Jerome was in the Cherokee nation IT in 1910, which makes me lean more toward Laflore county, later Jesse was in Mccurtain county at Checotah, where he died.
