Looking for info on the CHOATE / CHOTE children who lived with James & Margaret BELL in Scott co. AR in 1860. On the 1860 census for Revalle, Scott co. AR,
James BELL age 56 b. SC
Margaret BELL age 36 b. MO
James C. BELL age 13 b. MO
H.M. BELL "Hector M." age 9 b. MO
J.A. CHOAT female age 12 b. MO
D. F. CHOAT female age 10
S.E. CHOAT male age 8
M.C. CHOAT female age 6
L. C. CHOAT male age 3 b. MO
The ages and birth places may be incorrect.
I believe L. C. CHOAT is actually Lonzo CHOAT, b. AR.
Margaret CHOAT was probably the 2nd wife of James BELL.
In 1850 James BELL resided in Cooper co. MO with wife Elizabeth and 13 children, the 2 youngest being James C. BELL age 5 and Hector M BELL age 2. Note the slight age differences.
On the 1870 census for Scott co. AR, Lonzo C. CHOTE age 12 born AR lives with John G. and Dorinda FORT. Dorinda was a sister to James BELL. James & Dorinda were children of Zephaniah & Jeanette BELL, of Cooper co. MO.
What happened to James & Margaret BELL after the 1860 census? What are the names of the other Choat children? Where did they go? Thanks. JoAnn
