We are trying to find information about David H. Bishop (1827-1892) of Sebastian Co. AR, his wife Rachel Mora Martin Kersh (1843-19xx), and their children, grandchildren and other descendents. He was one of John Bishop II’s grandsons. We would greatly appreciate any information that you can provide and any corrections you can provide to the information given below that might be inaccurate.
David H. Bishop was born circa 1827 in Loudoun Co. VA, the son of Aquilla Bishop and Jemima (Polly) Violet. Does anyone have his exact birth date? He died 31 Dec. 1892 in Sebastian Co. AR.
David H. Bishop married Rachel Mora Martin Kersh circa 1875. Does anyone know their exact marriage date? She was born circa 1843 in MS. She was alive 27 Aug. 1901 when she received a $50 pension for her husband’s Confederate service. According to her pension application, he served in Co. I of consolidated regiments 11th and 17th Arkansas Cavalry between 1861 and 1865. We would like to have her exact birth and death dates.
Five children were born to David and Rachel Bishop:
1. Walter Allen Bishop was born circa 1866 in TX. He died Aug 1938. He married Margaret (Maggie) Elizabeth (Emaline) Bonner on 2 May 1886 in Sebastian Co. AR. She was born circa 1868 in Fort Smith, Sebastian Co. AR. She was the daughter of Ezekiel B. Bonner and Emoline Martin. She died Apr 1944. Walter and Maggie had 9 children and 6 were living in 1910. We know the names of eight.

b. Andrew Jackson Bishop, born 8 Jan. 1893 in OK. Did he marry Ethel Trevathan and hace a son Carlton Bishop in Angelina Co. TX on 29 Aug. 1938?
c. Oweta (Weter) Bishop (female), born Apr. 1894 in Indian Territory (OK;. died at age 16.
d. Charles Bishop, born 4 Jan. 1897 in Indian Territory (OK).
e. Claude (Cloud) Bishop, born 27 Jun. 1901 in OK; died 23 Nov. 1968 in Woodlake Tulare Co. CA.
f. John W. Bishop, born 1906 in AR.
g. Daniel Bishop, born 2 Apr. 1912 in AR; died Nov. 1978 in Tempe Maricopa Co. AZ?
h. Paul Bishop, born circa 1914-15 in AR.
2. Elizabeth (Bessie) Bishop, born circa 1870 in AR.
3. Sadie Bishop, born circa 1872 in AR; married Walter Gilliam 23 Jan. 1892 in Sebastian Co. AR.
4. Dasie Bishop, born circa 1878 in AR.
5. Marvin Bishop, born circa 1879 in AR; died 12 Apr. 1899 in Sebastian Co. AR of malaria.
