Martha E. Byars, daughter of Harrell Byars and Nancy Tackett was born abt 1839, Lawrence Co. Ala. She md Thomas Story 9 Jul 1857 Fannin Co. TX. Thomas Story b. abt 1831 Tenn. Before they left Texas they had a son Frank b. 1859 Tex. By 1870 they were in Sebastian Co Ark. Big Creek. Frank is not with them. Did he die young? Other children: John P. b abt 1863 TX, Ollie (male?) b. 1865 TX, Annie E. b abt 1866 TX, William R. b abt 1869 TX. By 1880 they had added Laura b abt 1876 and Mary b Jan 1880. And Ollie was now listed as a daughter.
Thomas Story and "Emily" were still in Sebastian Co. AR. in 1900. I would like to contact a descendant of this family. Martha Emily (called Em in some places) Byars Story, was the sister of our great grandfather, Daniel Webster Byars. Did Thomas and Martha die in Sebastian Co. Ark? Information on these "cousins" will be most welcome. cbh.
