I am needing help locating the family of George Williams who filed Guion Miller Applications to the Cherokee Nation. HE had some kids there in Sebastian Co. and some in TX. This family were the descendants of John Williams and Nancy Helton out of Carter Co. TN.
Nancy Helton b. 1815 is the daughter of Silas Helton b. 1786 NC and Elizabeth Murphy of NC. SHe is said to have been one half Native American. The application said Cheorkee.
Silas Helton descendants DNA tested and have returned Native American. Anyone knowing information on the Williams family and Helton or Hilton families would be greatly appreciated.
